Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is the unexpected and sudden death of an infant that remains unexplained after all other causes have been ruled out through autopsy, death scene investigation and medical history.

 

SIDS affects families of all races, religions, and income levels. SIDS usually occurs during sleep and strikes without warning. Neither parents nor doctors can tell which babies will die.
